Currently March 2016Hey there, Bears!

1.The last time I was around these parts I was telling you about how my laptop had pretty much given up. Well, I took it to one of Bub's professors. He pretty much told me that it was a shell for electronics parts. All my files on that computer are gone. The operating system is gone. Even the basic command system is gone, and I have no idea how that happened.

So for the mean time, I've gotten another laptop.

2. I'm working on the rebrand now. I came up with the PERFECT name a couple of weeks ago. I was going to call it 'The Catch'. I don't watch TV but I was on the train and saw a bus stop poster for a show going by the same name. Turns out it was Shonda Rhimes' new show, and sometimes I know well enough to leave things alone. So back to the name hunting drawing board it went. I finally found something tonight that I think has some longevity to and that I like. So hopefully I can get the ball rolling on this process. I actually made the relaunch part of my digital media class. So my final for this class will be the actual rebranded blog. And to be honest, it's not that much of a rebrand. It's some of the same colors and elements, but the new site will be responsive.

3. I've been bored at work lately. I need a challenge. Something to stimulate me or else I just get bored, start to slack off and/or look for something new. But since I honestly do like the people I work with, (just not the work I do) I decided I was going to create an Instagram account for my store so I've been curating photos for that account.

4. There's a little vintage store around the corner from my apartment. I went in there to see if I could find some items to use a props. While I'd love to buy them, I honestly have no space for them so I'm thinking about asking the owner to ask the sellers if any of them would be interested in renting the items.

5. Gin is a spoiled cat and I know it's both of our faults.

6. Check out my February Spotify playlist. I forgot to tell you guys that it was up.

Currently: February 2016 (Even Though it's March)

Currently February 2016Yes I know it's March already but February just snuck past me without me even realizing it so I thought I'd let you know what was going on around here.

Wanting: to cry because my Mac crashed on me and now I need to take it in for repairs.

Stressing: Because I don't want to think about how much it's going to cost me to fix it.

Thinking: seriously about a rebrand of XO Panda to the point where I've already bought the domain name I was considering.

Enjoying: my digital media entrepreneurship class A LOT! I've already made an intro video for said rebranded site.

Feeling: lost without easy access to my laptop.

Needing: to lose some weight. Over the winter break I packed on 15 pounds and I'm totally uncomfortable.

Realizing: that I'm basically horrible at math that doesn't involve basic arithmetic/percentages that it takes me 7 hours to do math homework.

So I'm pretty much just stressing about my computer at this point because I need it for 3 out of my 4 classes and I don't have time to use the school computers because of work.

The family that chills together...

Forcing: Bub to watch Making A Murderer, because it's almost a civic duty at this point.

Cooking: What I tend to consider A LOT of "College food".

Looking: For a new phone because the one I have now is starting to act up.

Deciding: On S.M.A.R.T blog goals.

Waiting: (Ever so patiently) For the book list for the spring semester to open up so I can buy them.

Itching: To get back into the pool. (Even though my hair is practically DEAD at this point.)

Anticipating: Finally being able to visit the Broad with a friend next week.

Watching: Practically everything on Netflix right now.

Reading: Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

Realizing: That styling is DEFINITELY something that I want to get into.

Making: A list of all the things I want to accomplish this year.

Trying: To remember to repeat my money mantra every day.

Needing: To get some workouts  in. Like, seriously!

Working: On a new logo. Pineapples and palm trees, anyone?

  • Visiting my sister in the hospital and hoping that test results come back negative. (Which would be good.)
  • Finding unexpected blog props.
  • Appreciating everything that I learned and contacts made during the internship
  • Hating buying items for retail price after learning about sample sales.

March 2014 in Review

Insta-Panda-March-2014

Wow! Where has time gone? I can't believe it's already going to be April. Time, I need you to slow down a bit for me, thanks. Well, not much happened this month blog-wise and I apologize for that but let's move forward, shall we?

4-Levels-of-Fashion-IndustryThis month I talked about the 4 levels of the fashion business and how much lead time each level needs to get items out to consumers.

Meatless Monday on a School ScheduleHow I manipulate the food truck menu at school to help me stay in line with Meatless Monday.

Citrus Sunrise IngredientsThis Citrus Sunrise Juice has quickly become my favorite thing to drink in the morning. Even my 2 year old niece loves it.

March Style WishlistThis months very colorful Style Wishlist

This song has been stuck in my head all month. Ladies, does anyone else have a running list of songs titled, "If I were a stripper"? This is definitely one of mine. LOL!

And I also ventured to the LA County Natural History Museum where I saw this beauty.

4644 Carat Topaz

I finished reading Isaac Asimov's "The Robots of Dawn". Such a good book. Too bad I realized it was the last book in a series, so I'm going to have to read the first two sometime soon. What a sleuth, that Elijah Bailey!

On to Netflix. This month I watched: Murder She Wrote (S4), Drop Dead Diva (S5), Hello Sister Goodbye Life, Timeline, HolidazeThe Hunt for Red October, and Who's Minding the Store

1. Why must every season of MSW be like 22 episodes long? 2. Are Jane and Grayson finally going to happen? NO! Thanks for dropping that bomb, real Jane! 3. There are SO many good actors in THFRO! 4. There's also a lot of good actors in 'Timeline' as well. Namely, Remus Lupin. HA!  5. They also added 'While You Were Sleeping' which is the sole reason why I'm a Sandra Bullock fan. I kid you not, I watched it like 6 times.

And that's pretty much what I did in March, not including school and work.

Here's to April! Hopefully I can get more accomplished.

February 2014 Review

Insta-Panda February 2014

It's that time of the month again where I review the month I just had. It was my niece and nephews birthday and she slept through practically the whole thing. Poor girl. The month started off pretty swell and is ending with me being tired as hell! I found out there's a street in Arizona named after me. Not just my middle name, but my middle AND last name. I think that's pretty cool. I also think there's a road trip in store just to take a picture on my street. (It's not really named after me, but after an AZ politician I share a name with.) Also, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I kind of have a thing for Thomas Magnum. I just find him incredibly attractive.

Netflix: The Croods, L'amour Fou, Lone Survivor, The Tents, Martin and Lewis, Thelma & Louise*, 101 Dalmations, Fame High, The Queen of Versailles, Titanic's Final Mystery, Down Periscope*

Apparently I was in a documentary mood when it comes to movies. As far as TV goes, I'm still making headway on 'Murder She Wrote'. I've been watching it all month. The only thing is, I didn't realize there were 13 seasons until recently. I just started season 4.  I love watching it because you get to see actors when they were younger. Like Bryan Cranston cozying up to Linda Hamilton as her fiance, who then gets blown up.

6a0133f374a3ef970b01a3fcb22036970b Skincare Routine February Style Wishlist Strawberry Milhojas Magnum PI Valentines FIDM AMPCD 2014 Oz the Great and PowerfulMy favorite posts this month were when I talked about my first Crossfit experience, I went over my skin care routine, still loving everything that I chose for my February  Style Wishlist, I shared a Strawberry Milhojas dessert for Valentine's Day, I showed you the Thomas Magnum Valentine's Day card I made for myself, I talked about my favorite costumes at FIDM's annual art of motion picture costume design exhibit, and I gave you a school update

and last but not least, this song has been stuck in my head all month...

...and that was February for me. How was yours?

January 2014 Review

january_2014_review

advice to my teenage self affordable valentine's day lingerie packing tip come alive chrome toro y moi Saint Francis De Sales patron saint of writers and journalists karats vs. carats easy daily beauty routine

I've decided to try something new for 2014. I'm going to bring back my monthly review. This time since I want to work for a magazine, my favorite posts of the month will be highlighted like a magazine cover.

Each item should be clickable, so go ahead and find something that interests you, click, and it should take you directly to my post.

*ETA: Okay, I guess not. Here are the links for the posts featured in the image: Amanda: Age 19, Valentine's Lingerie under $25, Francis De Sales, Shirt Folding tip, Karat vs. Carat, 3 product beauty routine, "Come Alive"

TV & Movies: I've been as obsessed as ever over Netflix Instant. This is what I marathoned/ saw for the first time, this month: The Carrie Diaries*, Deadliest Catch*, The Guilt Trip, The Fatal Hour, Flawless, Stuck in Love*, Lilo & Stitch*, That Guy...Who was in That Thing, American Masters: Johnny Carson: King of Late Night*, **, Fashion Model

*= Favorite, **=Full Documentary

"Push" in January: This month I resolved to walk/run 50 miles for the entire month. I was able to complete that on Thursday and it felt really good. Of course there were times that I didn't want to go but I did and I'm glad I stuck with it. I'm thinking 2014 is the year of small accomplishments. If I focus on small ones, and sticking with them, I'm sure by the end of the year, I'll have this giant list of things I accomplished in 2014 and that's what I want.

Meatless Monday: I've stuck with Meatless Monday so far and I'm starting to get used to it. It takes a little planning to figure out what I want to make, but I'm starting to like it nonetheless. Here's what I made this month: Lentil Soup, sun-dried tomato potato tacos, pesto lasagna, open-faced egg sandwich

How was your January? Have you been sticking to your resolutions/goals? If so, That's awesome! Keep going! If you haven't, Get back on that horse. Just because you fell off doesn't mean you can't get back on. There's no time like today to start over again.
